The events held in Russia under the aegis of the Russian National Group of IAEG (2006-2007):

- The third International Scientific and Practical Symposium on Natural Conditions on the Construction and Preservation of the Churches in the Orthodox Russia was held at the Holy Trinity and St.Sergius Monastery, Sergiev Posad, Moscow District, Russia, on October 8-10, 2006. The Scientific council RAS on Environmental Geoscience, Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology  was among the organizers of the symposium. The volume of Symposium Proceedings was published.

- The All-Russia Scientific and Practical Conference "Environmental and Geological Problems in Urban Areas" was held in Yekaterinburg, Russia by the Ural State Mining Institute, Institute of Geology and Geophysics, and the Scientific Council RAS on Environmental Geoscience, Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology on December 19-20, 2006. The conference discussed the following topics: 1) theoretical and methodical fundamentals of the study and assessment of ecological state of geoenvironment in the urbanized areas; 2) technogenic trannsformation of geoenvironment caused by various sources; and 3) intensification of geological processes.

- The ninth All-Russia Scientific Conference ”Sergeevskie chteniya” (The annual session of the Scientific council RAS on Environmental Geoscience, Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology) in commemoration of the outstanding Soviet and Russian scholar, the founder of the Russian school of engineering geology, and the pioneer in environmental geoscience development, Past President IAEG academician Evgenii Mikhailovich Sergeev. Moscow, March 23, 2007.
